Description

Alvin Leonard "Pops" Trice was born May 27,1953 into the home of Edgar and Rebecca Trice of Shannon, Mississippi. Alvin departed his life the same way he entered, surrounded by family and friends.

Alvin started his education within the Shannon Public School System, up until the age of six at which time he moved to Washington,D.C. with his mother and later graduated high school from Western High School in N.W. Washington, D.C. There were he was a stand-out athlete and three letter man,playing basketball,football,and baseball,despite having collete interested in his talents. Alvin decided to join the U.S. Army where he served his country as a chef, cook until the time of his discharge. It was there where he learned his way around the kitchen.

Alvin followed his brief stint in the army with a number of carreer choices. He finally found his caslling becoming a licensed HVAC mechanic for Arlington County Government and retired from there after 13 years of service.


On April 19,1979 Alvin married Deborah Horsley of Washington,D.C. Out of this union came three sons. They stayed married for 15 years after which time they decided to split peacefully.

After years of being single, Alvin finally met a new love interest in Barbara of Washington, D.C. to whom he would live out the rest of his days side by side with.

Alvin leaves to mourn his mother Rebecca Trice, three sons: Alvin L Trice Jr., William Allen Trice (Tiffany), and Navaro Antonie - Devoe (Shania) his seven grandchildren.
